... How many experts will see my work?
You may invite experts personally
You may pay experts to rate your artwork.
You can use this tool under 'My artworks'. Experts have no obligation to
rate your work. You will need to do a good presentation, and you will need to
select an expert who specializes in your field. Therefor you need to study their
profile.
The more you fill in about your artwork the better your artwork is found. Some
experts filter on 'Style' or 'Artist education' or 'Gallery representation'. Other
experts want to see good photographs of your artwork before they dare to give
an opinion. The more ambitious you are, the higher the chances of getting
noticed.
Disclaimer: The experts have no obligation to rate your work. Artists must
'tease' them with a good audition.
... How do star ratings work?
No rating
No expert has yet taken the effort to rate the artwork. This can be because:
- no or few experts saw the work
- experts found the work not interesting enough
- experts found the work not documented well enough
Experts found the work interesting and documented enough to give an opinion. Even for a one star rating, the expert found the artwork interesting or compelling enough to publicly contribute to the artwork. Again, we as NMA say it's not so much about how high your rating is, but much more how many experts have taken the time to discuss it.
... Who are the experts?
Independent
New Master Artist works completely independent from any art expert. We just provide an platform for any qualified art expert worldwide.
A global open communityThe experts are part of a global open community that any expert can join, as long as they meet the criteria. Simply put, they are professionals who have the background and experience to have an interesting viewpoint on art from an artistic or commercial viewpoint. New Master Artist has full and sole authorization which experts to approve or disapprove. For more details see the criteria for experts.
... How can I delete my account?
To delete your entire account, email us. To verify your identity, please use the emailaddress you used for registration.
... How can I improve my artwork ratings?
In many ways:
- provide more information
- provide better information
- invite up to 5 experts personally (pick them carefully) to rate your work
- invite expert friends who know your work to join NMA
- build a portfolio, so experts can see your style
- ... and obviously... improve your artwork and your profile
... Who can see the ratings, and can I hide them?
If you received ratings for your artwork, anyone can see them.
When you see a rating, please check out the profile of the expert, and check out his or her other ratings. Now you can see the rating in perspective.
Ratings are intended to help you get feedback from a professional or to help buyers.
You cannot hide the ratings. We encourage you to improve your presentation and invite other experts as well. If you really don's like your rating, you of course always have the option of deleting your artwork.
... Can I delete ratings?
Go to the rating invitation page of the specific artwork and delete the rating of the expert
Hang on! Here is a tip. Low ratings do not have to be bad! Some people think it is art when there is NO consensus by experts, and it creates controversy. In that respect you can be happy that an expert took the time to give you feedback. You can argue that the rating is less important than the number of experts that rate your works, because that tells you it provokes reactions by experts!
... How do I buy or sell an artwork?
The buyer can contact the artist directly.
They will have to make arrangements between themselves. New Master Artist is not involved in the payment or delivery process. We are not held accountable for the transaction, payment or any information the artist has given about him or herself or the artworks.
... How do I sell my art here?
You may be contacted by a buyer directly
So, our role is to be an independent marketplace, while not interfering with the transaction
... Is there a commission on sales?
NMA does not charge commissions.
Artists can be contacted directly from any interested person, and sell the artwork without any commission to NMA.
... How does NMA make money?
Our basic services for artists, experts, buyers and visitors are free.
We get paid from:
- companies organizing competitions
- artists participating in competitions
- experts that give ratings on artworks for collectors and artists
- sale and delivery of artwork prints of competitions
... How do I upload video art?
This is the process:
- Go to: Upload-art-menu and upload a still-picture of your video
- Go to the edit-main-info-page of your artwork
- Insert your link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?xxxxxxxxxxxxx
- after saving, the video is now visible on the artwork page
... How do I delete an artwork ?
You can find this tool here: go to My account, then My artworks,
then select the trash can next to the work you want to delete.
... How can I get ratings?
You may buy credits, that you can use to invite the experts.
Experts will be offered your artwork(s), and you will be notified of receiving a rating.
Should an expert not give a rating fro any reason, your credits will be refunded.
You can find this tool here: go to My account, then My artworks, select Invite
experts next to the work you want ratings for. Your artwork needs to have
a height and width and "Materials & description" needs to be filled in.
That will make your artwork findable for experts. Some experts filter on Education,
Style or Subject. If you have not filled this in, your work may not be findable for them.
