I am a colorist by heart. Colour is important in my paintings.
Colours aro so functiona; they bring about something. Colours act upon the picture.
In my later work, the shape of the painting becomes more meaningfull. I often like to introduce something in the image (through perspective, the colour or a combination of forms) that doesn't fit.
At first all seemes to be normal, but looking again something pricks. Then the painting evokes questions, gives a feeling of windering. The watcher can ask him/herself: what is it what I see?
