Gallery discovers artist

We are happy that artist Willem Schellekens (a.k.a. Noklu) shared a success-story with us. His artwork was picked up by the online media Kunstbeeld (http://bit.ly/hMFPR9) and he was invited to show his works in the Dutch gallery www.walls.nl. Share your story too via email or via our facebook!

Dutch Minister Gerd Leers opened the website officially, during the international art fair TEFAF. The media quickly picked up that this is the first platform of its kind: artists can do artwork-auditions and get ratings from any qualified expert and gallery worldwide. Since the official launch we had 11 new expert applications of which 8 were approved. We welcome the following experts/gallerists: Jeannette ten Kate, Martijn Janssens, Roy Kahmann, Catherine Van Duinen - van Lith, Fenja Sepers, Victoria Kovalenchikova, Arend van Zon and Steven Roberts. As you know, New Master Artist is a global open platform for experts. If you know an expert or gallery, let them apply and join through our website.

Half of the 600 artwork have not been viewed by experts yet. Usually this is because experts cannot find artists; the experts use search-filters to find specific artworks or artists. If artists did not share that information, they are not found. Examples are: style of artwork, materials used, size of artwork, artist background, multiple good photos, info whether the artist already has a gallery. As an extra tip for artists: there is a special 'expert invitation' form that artists can use to invite up to 5 experts to view each work. We noticed some artists found this free tool and are starting to use it. It really helped them get feedback.

New Master Artist focusses on helping artists get feedback from professionals. Currently we are preparing more tools to get them discovered: more (international) gallerists and experts, weekly website improvements (fridays) for more interaction, help of sponsors and setting up exhibitions and competitions.
